ROAR CALISTHENICS ACADEMY
Dance with Pride
At Roar Calisthenics, we are lovers of all things dance, music and performing. Calisthenics is a truly unique dance sport that combines the best parts of Jazz, Ballet, Musical Theatre and Gymnastics.
Our classes are a safe, fun and encouraging space to support our performers to learn new skills, express their creative side and grow into beautiful performers.
WHAT IS CALISTHENICS?
Calisthenics can be categorised as both a sport and an art. As a sport it encourages physical development, coordination, self-discipline and team spirit. As an art it develops an appreciation of music and rhythm, the beauty of correct technique and the excitement of performing. Calisthenics offers dancing, singing, gymnastics and technical skills all in one class.
At Roar, we believe that Calisthenics creates strong, confident performers, and the skills they learn can we transferred from the stage to everyday life.
Calisthenics involves a team of participants learning routines choreographed to music and presenting these routines on stage at competitions or concerts. Pupils learn between two and five routines concurrently throughout the year. This is where the diversity of the sport is shown.
In addition to team items, participants can compete in solo and duo items.
