Roar Calisthenics Academy Principle Coach
15 years Coaching Experience
27 years Calisthenics Experience
My love for Calisthenics started 25 years ago at Ceres Calisthenics College in Victoria. I was hooked - my fondest memories of my childhood all revolve around Calisthenics. I must admit, I wasn't the most coordinated child but I loved the performance side. I competed at numerous competitions in Victoria including Royal South Street competitions in Ballarat.
When I was 8, my family moved to the Gold Coast and I started at Helensvale Calisthenics Academy. Once moving to Queensland I started competing in Duo, Solo and Graceful Girl competitions as well as representing Queensland at Nationals.
I represented Queensland from 2000 to 2011 in Junior, Inter and Senior Teams, Graceful Girls and Solo and was Assistant Coach to the Queensland Junior Team in 2010. I also coached an Intermediate Graceful Girl who also represented Queensland at the 2012 Nationals in Darwin.
I have studied full time in Musical Theatre through the Australian Dance Performance Institute in Brisbane were I learnt so much about the theatre, ballet, jazz and acting.
I have been involved in coaching since I was 14 years old and get so much satisfaction in doing so. Calisthenics is my passion - it's in my blood. I love every element of this amazing sport from the choreography, making and decorating of costumes, to coaching and performing. I have been so lucky to make lifelong friends throughout my years and I hope to pass this passion and love for Calisthenics on to every girl I teach.
